RTO (Recovery Time Objective)

RTO is the other half of a disaster recovery plan alongside RPO: not how much data you can lose, but how long you can tolerate being offline before it seriously damages the business. A 4-hour RTO for your email system is a very different (and more expensive) commitment than a 24-hour one — and it's only meaningful if it's actually been tested, not just written down.
