Cloud Backup
Copies of your data stored offsite, in the cloud, so a local disaster doesn't take your backups with it.
A backup stored on the same site as the original data can be destroyed alongside it — by fire, flood, theft, or ransomware that encrypts everything it can reach, including attached backup drives. Cloud backup keeps a copy offsite and (ideally) immutable, so it survives whatever happened to the original. It's a component of a disaster recovery plan, not the whole plan by itself.
