Break-Fix
Paying for IT support only when something breaks, rather than an ongoing proactive relationship.
Break-fix is the older, reactive model: you call someone when something stops working, and pay per incident or per hour. It can look cheaper on paper, but there's no one proactively monitoring, patching or preventing problems — issues get found when they cause pain, not before. Most businesses that grow past a certain size move to a managed model instead.
